Introduction

Product Overview

The Gold Silicon Nut features a precision-molded silicone outer layer that encloses the gold component, providing a secure grip on the earring post while ensuring lasting comfort for everyday wear. It is tested in three thickness variants, as detailed below.

Friction Nut

A friction nut is thoroughly inspected and verified prior to encapsulation within the silicone body, ensuring secure engagement with the friction post, consistent retention, and reliable long-term performance.

Precision-Molded Silicone

Precision-molded silicone ensures a secure hold on the earring post with exceptional everyday comfort.

Functional Inspection Methodology

Test Protocol

  • 1
Cycle Testing: Conducted 300 ON/OFF cycle tests on samples of each thickness.
  • 2
Load Assessment: Performed a dead weight holding test after every 100 cycles.
  • 3
Test Loads: The dead weight holding test was conducted using the following loads:
    10 g 15 g 20 g

Example (0.10 mm Thickness)

100 Cycles Completed

Conducted the first 100 on-off cycles.

Friction Dead Weight Test

After completion of 100 cycles, performed the dead weight holding test using 10 g, 15 g, and 20 g loads.

Repeat Until 300 Cycles

The same procedure was repeated after every subsequent 100 ON/OFF cycles until completion of the total 300 cycles.

Comfort & Grip Assessment

Silicon Hardness

Silicon Nut Sample

60 A

Shore A Durometer rating optimizes comfortable daily wearing elasticity and secure post friction holding capability.

Japan Sample

66 A

Stiffer Shore A durometer hardness. Offers rigid post grip but is less yielding for regular daily earlobe insertion and removal.
